It's called The City of Violence and it's Korean, and it's huge. The director, Seung-wan Ryoo,
was not only the writer but also the co-star, so he did quite a bit of stunts and fighting himself.

That's him on the left. There's actually only a handful of fight scenes in the movie, but if it were marketed as the "Brotherly Friendship" movie that it actually is, it probably wouldn't have done any international business. It's a great movie, and the fight scenes are very fresh and feel very real.
There are references in the film to just about every Chinese action movie of the last 20 years, as well as American crime, suspense, and adventure films.
I watched the commentary (in Korean) and Seung-wan Ryoo was very explicit about his homages, and it is obvious this guy is a huge film geek himself. Please check this movie out if Asian Action cinema is your thing. It makes Rush Hour look like a freaking sitcom.
BTW, the first KFGC episode has been very popular, and the new one will appear sometime next week.
