To be honest, I only picked it up because Gordon Liu is in it.
Most cats stateside know him as this dude:

But most people that are HK fans know him from movies like Warrior from Shaolin, which I love for its pure campiness, and this movie: 36 Chambers of Shaolin.

His cameo is all too brief. He's probably in the movie for 15 minutes.
He has a nice heroic ending. He gives some great death scenes.
The real scene stealer in this movie is the young Jacky Wu, who is 3 months older than me, but looks like he's 14, the bastard.
He looks like this.

He has great moves and a wonderful on-screen charisma. He wants to make American movies, which is great, because I always need a good martial arts villian, like this one, from SPL Kill Zone.
He takes on Donnie Yen in a climactic showdown and he was damn scary lookin'.

It's funny that he wants to make American movies now, since I only want to make movies in Hong Kong.
They're actually giving money to established filmmakers in that region to revive the film industry.
That, of course, leaves me out, which sucks. It amazes me that there even is a film industry in China, what with all the piracy and such.
Anyway, this movie is not great, but worth a rental if you need a quick, cliched, Shaw Brothers fix.
Toodles!
